07/07/2006 | S W WREFORD & SONS SATISSFIED WITH ANTI-SIPHONS

One of Britain’s oldest hauliers, SW Wrefords have fitted their Trucks with TISS’ ‘TankSafe’ anti-siphons.  The decision was made as the company strove to find new methods of combating ever-increasing fuel prices.

Founder members of the RHA, Wrefords have been operating from its Northampton base for over 100 years.  Wrefords remain a family owned business, with the third and fourth generations of the family now running the company.

Andy Wreford, Fleet Engineer, was impressed with the devices: “the TISS ‘TankSafe’ anti-siphons are excellent.  Having fitted the ‘Standard’ and the ‘Impregnable’ systems, I estimate that we are now saving £xxx per month on our fuel bills.  I therefore have no hesitation in recommending TISS’ anti-siphons to other hauliers”.

Recent reports that the government are planning to implement a 2 pence per litre rise in fuel tax in October, proved the catalyst for Wreford’s decision fit the anti-siphons.

Mr Wreford continues: “with fuel prices constantly rising, we are continually searching for new methods of reducing fuel bills.  Constantly analysing and worrying about fuel figures is a time-consuming activity.  Therefore, I am delighted to have the piece of mind that by fitting TISS’ anti-siphons, our fuel is fully protected”.

The TISS “Impregnable” device is the only anti-siphon available that offers complete protection to the fuel tank.  Utilising a unique, patented float-valve it means no fuel can be siphoned and also prevents diesel spills. With a 3 inch long neck, the “Standard” anti-siphon is the shortest anti-siphon in the UK, making it a superb deterrent against 3rd party theft.

TISS’ Sales Director, Ryan Wholey was pleased with Mr Wreford’s comments: “we are delighted to see another hugely respected haulage company fitting our TankSafe anti-siphons.  Additionally, I am extremely pleased that Wrefords are experiencing significant savings after fitting them”.
