16/06/2006 | CO-OP RETAIL LOGISTICS FIT TISS ANTI-SIPHON TO ALL NEW VEHICLES
Co-Operative Retail Logistics (part of the Co-operative group) have announced they are to fit TISS’ “Easy-Fit FloatChamber” anti-siphon to all new vehicles. The decision was made after a successful trial of the system.
CRL Fleet Engineer, Ron Dovey, purchased the TISS FloatChamber device after realising the unit was minimal in cost compared to that of the new trucks: “By fitting the anti-siphon at newbuild, the cost of the anti-siphon is lost in the total capitalisation of the truck.
TISS Sales Director, Ryan Wholey, added: “With new trucks costing in excess of £50,000, the cost of the anti-siphon device at £64 to £125 is negligible. However, the device pays for itself many times during the total lifespan of the vehicle by preventing fuel theft year on year. Some of our customers have jumped from 8.5mpg to 9.5mpg per truck after fitting our TankSafe device.”
CRL’s Mr Dovey researched various anti-siphon systems on the market and selected the TISS FloatChamber device over others: “I found the TISS anti-siphon to be well manufactured compared to competing devices that I evaluated”.
Anti-siphon sales to CRL reflect TISS’s strong start to 2006. Other recent sales have been made to Fowler Welch Coolchain Ltd, who have fitted their entire fleet of vehicles with the anti-siphon. Additionally, sales have been made to Exel, Tesco and Saints, all of whom fit the majority of the units through dealerships.
